What to do in Herefordshire, Wye Valley and the Breacon Beacons
Delights that await both onsite and locally, a comprehensive list will be shared upon booking
While away the afternoon with a glass of wine whilst you rustle up something delicious. All our units have a variety of cooking facilities, some with BBQ's, others wood burning stoves with ovens and all with a standard cooker! We share some great family favourite recipes for you to try and can link you up with local regeneratively farmed meat as well as receiving food deliveries form all major supermarkets.
Star Gaze, from pretty much everywhere!!! All our units are unique, featuring different highlights, so you might choose to lounge in Pumla's outdoor bath, The Nook's hot tub or maybe the deck net and cosy blankets at Sky House take your fancy. Wherever you choose, on a clear night it will be spectacular as we are on the edge of one of the worlds eighteen dark sky reservers. If you stay in a yurt, you literally can't escape them as they shine down on you through the crown whilst you sleep (a large circular window in the roof).
Sunrises are equally plentiful and especially wonderful in the autumn and winter months when that golden orb and accompanying glory rise straight up and greet you at a sociable hour as you lounge in bed!
If cooking isn't your thing, look no further. We are a 10 minute drive or spectacular pub walk from the Michelin Guide pub, 'The Bull's Head' and can suggest all manner of fun dinner clubs that happen in these parts. From the sumptuous delights of our off-grid buddies to bohemian nights spent amidst rose gardens and fire cooked meats.
Take to the skies, land and water. We chose to base our lives and work here as it is gloriously beautiful everywhere you go! The landscape can be enjoyed from the air, bike, horse, you name it, it's probably happening. From your home at Kaya you can literally walk up the 'garden path' onto the infamous 'Cat's Back' and then on to the 'Brecon Beacon's National Park'. It's a stones throw to water based adventure on the River Wye, an area of outstanding national beauty. We have great connections with all manner of outfits that can help you enjoy it so if it's a deal breaker, get in touch and we can hook you up.
Worried about the weather!? Pop down the road to make some gin! Or visit one of our lovely local villages such as Hay on Wye, famed for its bookshops and festival. Failing that, all our units have huge picture windows where you can laze away a rainy day so just lay back and cosy in for the day!
